Captain Tushar Mahajan: The Immortal Hero of Pampore Encounter
It was a cold February night in Pampore, Jammu & Kashmir, when terrorists took control of a government building. Inside, nearly 120 innocent people were trapped. Continuous gunfire echoed through the air, and fear had gripped every corner.
In such dire circumstances, the Indian Army’s Special Forces Unit was called in. Leading the team was Captain Tushar Mahajan, known for his courage and fearless spirit.
As the operation began, Tushar entered the building with his team. Amidst the heavy exchange of bullets, he managed to rescue several hostages and bring them to safety. But the terrorists were firing relentlessly from the upper floors.
Without caring for his own life, Captain Tushar moved forward, leading from the front. One by one, he engaged the terrorists in fierce combat. In the middle of the encounter, a grenade blast left him severely injured.
Yet, ignoring the excruciating pain, he continued giving commands to his men and kept fighting. Finally, the terrorists were neutralized, and dozens of innocent lives were saved.
During this intense battle, Captain Tushar Mahajan made the ultimate sacrifice. His martyrdom shook the entire nation.
Later, for his extraordinary bravery, he was posthumously awarded the Shaurya Chakra.
Even today, his name fills every Indian heart with pride.
